Patrick McChesney

Mr. McChesney, the Marcos de Niza High School Theatre teacher & director, has been teaching in the Tempe Union High School District since 1998 and specifically at MdN since 2000. Mr. McChesney received a B.F.A. in Theatre Education (’98) and an M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction (’08), both from Arizona State University.

 

Mr. McChesney really enjoys working with young people and truly believes that the students at the Marcos Fine Arts Academy are exceptionally talented artists, technicians, and performers. “It is a lot of fun to work with young, creative individuals that know how to have a good time while striving to achieve high performance standards.” In 2015, Mr. McChesney was nominated, then furthered as one of forty theatre professionals in the nation, to be considered for the inaugural Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre Education.

The Marcos de Niza Choir and Drama Parents and Friends (MDN-CDP) is a non-profit 501©3 organization that serves as champions to support and promote the MdN High School Choir and Drama programs. We assist the Choral Director, Drama Director, school staff and administration in providing the students with one of the best choral and theater educations in the state.
