Welcome to Marcos de Niza Academics. 

Thank you for making Marcos de Niza, an A+ School of Excellence, your school of choice. Below, you will find important information from the Academics Office. 

You will find that MDN provides a wide array of curricular opportunities on campus and through Tempe Union Online (TUO). This variety of course offerings and modalities meets the needs of all students. Some of these offerings include: Advanced Placement (AP), dual enrollment courses through Rio Salado, honors courses, career and technical education (CTE) at MDN, as well as vocational courses offered through the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT).

Our attendance policy and code of conduct (in accordance with the policies of Tempe Union), and the "See Something, Say Something" campaign combine with our proactive approach to accomodate students' various needs to ensure an equitable and safe learning environment so that all students can meet the TUHSD graduation requirements and find their own personal success. 

We encourage both students and families to get involved and be active on campus. Studies universally show that involvement in extracurricular activities is proven to bolster academic performance. More importantly, here at Marcos we encourage all students to aspire to find a greater sense of purpose and belonging in order to add to our collective Padre Excellence. Lastly, please take a moment each week to look at your student's grades online using ParentVue. Another helpful tool to promote your student’s academic success is encouraging them to seek academic support by attending teachers’ office hours or Homework Lab (see Peer Tutoring section). This valuable tool will assist you in tracking how your child is making progress. Always feel free to contact our office regarding any questions, concerns, or news.
